eLEC Communications Launches its Own On-Net VoIP Network in Six Major Metropolitan U.S. Markets

Achieves Successful Network Deployments in New York Metro, Atlanta, Washington, D.C., Denver, Orlando and SouthEast Florida

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., June 29, 2005 – eLEC Communications Corp. (OTCBB:ELEC), a CLEC and integrated packet communications service provider, today announced that it has successfully deployed its own network for On-Net VoIP service to its enhanced services platform in six major metropolitan markets. eLEC’s next generation VoIP services are provided through its wholly owned subsidiary VoX Communications, a premier packet communications services provider of enhanced VoIP services to both wholesale, residential and business customers nationwide.

Initially, VoX’s On-Net service will be provided in metropolitan New York, Atlanta, Washington, D.C., Denver, Orlando and SouthEast Florida- including Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton and West Palm Beach. VoX’s nationwide VoIP offering will continue to be handled by its relationships with other Tier I partners, most notably Global Crossing.

“We continue to execute on our strategy to become a network- and facilities-based VoIP carrier to other carriers while continuing our retail services offerings to residential and small-business customers. This strategy enables us to continue servicing our existing customer base while building the robust VoIP business model that VoX is currently executing,” said eLEC’ CEO Paul Riss.

Riss continued, “We feel that VoX has achieved a low-cost structure platform that has enabled it to compete very effectively in an ever-growing and exciting marketplace. We will continue to monitor the financial performance metrics, because it is possible that we could deploy our VoIP services in 20 additional cities in 2005. We are currently evaluating our options, resources and ability to do this in a controlled and predictable manner,”
